Warm, empathic counselling and psychotherapy in central Bristol and online.
Hello, I’m Lottie, a Bristol-based therapist offering counselling and psychotherapy.

I offer both short and long term therapy, either online or face-to-face at a discreet practice in central Bristol.
WarMTh, EMPATHY and mental health insight
MY APPROACH
I am a qualified integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor working with individuals online and in person from my practice space in central Bristol (BS1). My approach is warm, down-to-earth and collaborative, plus I work from a trauma-informed perspective.
In our sessions together, I am completely led by you, adapting our sessions to fit your pace and drawing on a blend of therapeutic models (including person-centred, psychodynamic and Gestalt therapies) to support your unique needs. I anchor all my work in my values: compassion, kindness, curiosity, honesty, respect and equality.
HOW I CAN HELP
People seek therapy for all kinds of reasons. Perhaps you are navigating a difficult life transition, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or struggling with low self-esteem. I have a particular interest and specialist training in supporting people through body image issues, disordered eating and the complex relationship we have with our physical selves.
Whether you are dealing with burnout, exploring your identity or simply trying to make sense of old patterns that keep holding you back, we can unpack it together.
CHANGE IS POSSIBLE
I believe that you hold the keys to how change might best unfold for you.
Whatever it is you are finding heavy right now, my aim is to provide a safe, honest and completely respectful space where you can speak openly, find greater self-compassion and move toward lasting wellbeing.
ADDITIONAL EXPERTISE
Alongside my work as a therapist, I have spent many years working as a writer, editor and mental health author.
I regularly write about wellbeing, burnout and body image for places like The Guardian, Psychologies and Red magazine.
FIND YOUR PATH TO ACCEPTANCE
I wrote my book - Find Your Path to Acceptance - to give readers gentle, creative ways to unpack complicated feelings and build self-compassion on their own terms.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR OUR SESSIONS
I’ve always believed that psychological insight should be down-to-earth, accessible and deeply human to actually be useful. My background in communication means I can translate psychological jargon into easy-to-understand language. The work we do will be down-to-earth and relatable - an equal partnership where you feel truly heard and respected.
If you’re curious about my writing work, you can find out more at lottiestorey.co.uk or we can talk about it during the initial chat or ongoing sessions.
