Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy in bristol & online
Navigating a neurotypical world as an ADHD, Autistic or AuDHD individual, with a therapist who truly gets it
If you have spent your life feeling "different," constantly masking to fit in or burning yourself out trying to meet neurotypical standards, you are in the right place. Whether you have a formal diagnosis, are self-identified or are currently navigating the confusing rollercoaster of a late-in-life discovery, your way of experiencing the world is fully welcome here in therapy with me.
Living with ADHD, Autism or AuDHD, alongside other neurodivergent differences can bring a unique set of challenges in a world not built for your nervous system. You might be exhausted by executive dysfunction, struggling with sensory overload or feeling disconnected from your own emotions.
Good for support with:
ADHD, Autism, and AuDHD (including late-diagnosed/identified) | Unpacking Masking & Burnout | Rejection Sensitivity | Nervous System Regulation | Executive Function Support | Emotional Literacy
How we work together
My practice is neurodivergent-affirming. I don’t view your traits as deficits, I see you as a beautiful human who wants to be understood. Together, we could unpick a lifetime of masking, make sense of how you experience the world and build practical, personalised skills. We could focus on developing emotional literacy or practise nervous system regulation. We will always work together in a way that accommodates your brain, not anyone else’s.
MY EXPERIENCE IN THIS AREA
I am a member of Attention Allies, a specialist network dedicated to supporting neurodivergent individuals, and of Neurodivergent Practitioners, a global directory. Both affiliations allow me to stay at the forefront of neurodiversity-affirming practices. My professional background includes working with OTR, supporting young people with a diverse range of mental health and neurodivergent experiences. Alongside my clinical work, I bring deep personal insight from supporting my own family members through their Autistic and ADHD discoveries, during which neurodivergence became a special interest for me.
Through this combination of professional training and lived experience, I aim to offer skilled, affirming therapy rooted in a true understanding of ADHD, Autism and other neurodivergent profiles. My approach is entirely non-pathologising, focusing on helping you understand your unique nervous system, unmask safely if you choose to and build practical, self-compassionate strategies that actually work for your life.
what to expect from therapy
initial session
The first time you go to therapy might feel daunting or you may have some nerves about what will happen or how it feels to ask for help. This is totally normal. In this initial session, we’ll take things at your pace and focus on what brings you here. I aim to put you at ease quickly so that you can feel comfortable and supported to bring whatever you want to our sessions. We can agree a way forward together to make sure you get what you need from therapy.
A relational approach
My approach is relational, which means that I believe that building an authentic connection between therapist and client is at the heart of effective counselling. The research also supports this approach, showing that the quality of the relationship is the most important factor in how well therapy works. My aim is that you feel that the time you spend with me in therapy gives you an empathic, non-judgemental and trusting space to be your true self, which can also help you understand how you relate to others in your day-to-day life..
Regular reviews
It’s important that you get what you need from our work together. From the start, we’ll build in regular review sessions so that you can think about where you were when you began therapy, how it’s working for you and if your therapy goals have evolved. Planning ahead, we’ll ensure future sessions cover what you need and we’ll keep in mind how our work might end, ensuring that when you do feel ready to finish therapy, it feels like a positive conclusion.
